The short answer
Melbourne pools usually need heating to make spring and autumn comfortable; Sydney pools often need help at the shoulders of the season; Brisbane pools may need little heat in summer but benefit in the cooler, drier months.
In this guide
A rough seasonal picture
| City | Typical heating question | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Melbourne | How do I get a usable season from October to April? | Cool, changeable days and wind |
| Sydney | How do I add comfortable weeks at each end of summer? | Coastal wind, cooler nights |
| Brisbane | Do I need heat at all, and for which months? | Dry, cooler winter nights |
Use real weather, not averages from memory
The sizing tool can pull historical monthly weather for your exact address, or use spreadsheet city defaults. Local exposure such as shade or wind is still worth mentioning in your enquiry.
